Sebastien Bourdin is a Professor of Economic Geography and Environmental Management at IESEG School of Management. He holds a PhD in Geography and an Accreditation to Supervise Research (HDR). His research focuses on regional development, the social acceptability of ecological transitions, and environmental management, with a particular emphasis on the circular economy and its territorial implementation. He also pays close attention to European public policies, notably Cohesion policy and public policy evaluation. His work combines quantitative approaches—including spatial econometrics and modelling—with qualitative methods. Sébastien Bourdin has led and contributed to numerous European, national and regional research projects addressing major contemporary challenges, particularly in the fields of renewable energy, biogas, and the circular economy.

Sébastien Bourdin est Professeur de Géographie économique et de Management environnemental à l’IESEG School of Management. Titulaire d’un doctorat et d’une habilitation à diriger des recherches (HDR) en Géographie, ses travaux portent sur le développement territorial, la transition écologique et le management environnemental, avec un intérêt particulier pour l’économie circulaire et ses modalités de mise en œuvre à l’échelle territoriale. Spécialiste des questions européennes, il travaille notamment sur la politique de cohésion et l’évaluation des politiques publiques. Ses recherches reposent sur une approche méthodologique originale combinant méthodes quantitatives — économétrie spatiale et modélisation — et méthodes qualitatives. Sébastien Bourdin a dirigé et participé à plusieurs projets de recherche nationaux et européens sur des thématiques d’actualité, telles que les énergies renouvelables, la méthanisation et l’économie circulaire
